Perception

Perception is a strange thing, it changes from person to person. Sure you will hear similarities but in most cases none of them really add up to the point that is being made. Belief also plays a big roll in perception, look at the Muslims for example. Their perception of god is a figure that wants them to kill in the name of god. They see it as a honorable death but we see it as a retarded death. Someone who is willing to die to get laid by 71 virgins or so, were they even told if they were all female?
But perceptions doesn't have to be only point of view. Perception can also be how someone translates a situation or analyzes a situation. Like in Iraq many people think we are winning or we already won, but to me we are losing slowly and the "political leaders" are the ones who will decide if we lose or win. The reason I saw we are losing is because moral at the home front is lowering... people are saying bring our soldiers home and as soon as that gets worst then we will lose the physical and PR war. We are losing infantry every week and eventually the military will reach its limit. Sure only 10% of our military might is holding Iraq but one day someone will say "lets cut our loses and pull out." Don't get me wrong I fully support our soldiers... hell I am even willing to be there and die for the US if the time comes.

Another thing perception can referrer to is how stories have been told and if the information is correct. Stories have always been told and repeated over and over. But its been said that stories that have been passed for generation is different every time it is told. Some stories were told to mask the person telling the stories ignorance or shameful actions. But some stories were meant to pass knowledge and understanding. It all depends on the person telling the story, did the story teller have anything to hide? did the story teller have anything they wanted the world to know? Most false stories are coming from the persons fear and their worry of self image.

In my opinion there is such a thing as the truth, but not from stories but from science and investigation. Forensics cannot be faked or told in ten different versions. The evidence and science proves one story and eliminates the other ones. The stories can be twisted but the evidence cannot be unless the evidence is inserted into the equation. People lie and will always lie and that is what creates their perception of a story. Some people who lie so much and want to believe in their own story and nothing else will end up believing their story is the ultimate truth. In other words people end up lying to themselves and no even know it.

It reminds me of my grandmother, everyone that knows her can tell you she lies about a lot of things and even believes them to a point. She lies about financial things as well as minor family issues just so she wouldn't look like a fool. But people aren't stupid and sometimes her lies don't make out. Old age has taken its toll and now she believes most of the lies and crap she makes up. She likes to play mind games and sadly many people fall for it but most of my extended family isn't THAT stupid. Well at least I think soo...

Health Care My Ass!

Within the United States, health care has never been a field of concern. Most people viewed it as a luxury, however, in reality and my opinion it is more of a necessity. The United States is still one of the few countries that oppose a national health care system. It has been criticized, making it seem like the start of a communist government. Medical care in the US is very expensive and most people can’t afford it. Then again, health care companies aren’t there to primarily help the people, but to make money. Your heath is being used as a business how does a feel?

In Britain health care is provided by the government, they pay for all needed medical attention that people require no matter who or what it is. Although this universal health care is not free, it is paid for by the people through taxes. Also since that care is free you can imagine how slow the service must be. Some would think that it wouldn’t be fair for the people who pay more taxes to help the people who pay less taxes or non at all. However, to the people who live in a national health care system the peace of mind is greater then the “unfairness”. The thought that their neighbors will pay for some of their medical treatment when they reach a point when they can’t help themselves is a great feeling. In Brooklyn the idea of your neighbor not shooting you is the best you can hope for!

In many countries the society is seen as a whole and not as individuals, everyone watches out for everyone else. In the United States everyone relies on themselves, and this is bad because when you can’t watch out for yourselves no one else will. It can also be good because you can’t possibly know exactly whom to trust. There should be a balance; Americans are more concerned about their own comfort then their neighbors. In other words you can say that societies that live for themselves only, favor more greed than assistance.

Right now the United States has health care provided by multiple entities or private companies. There is a very small amount of governmental control on these private health insurance companies. America health care system makes up about 16% of the entire economy. In other words the “health care” in the United States can be classified as more of a business rather than a service.

In my opinion, the United States cannot have a national health care system unless the government gets of their thumbs and decide to crack down on these heath care businesses. The US also cant have a national health care system because the government officials do not desire one. They refer to a national health care system as a socialist or communist action. I can bet you if I walked up to a random American and asked them if they were afraid of communism they will say "YES!" Then when I ask them to explain to me what it is they won't be able to tell me shit. The fact that the government doesn't want more governmental regulation causes more health care companies to take advantage of the people. In the end, the powerful control the weak. But that was when the Bush administration controlled it all. Lets see how well "Obamas" or the Clinton administration will do.

It may be seen that the United States doesn’t want to have too much governmental control over the medicine and this causes companies to take control of the people and that is what killed the economy. The more people pay for medicine the less they will spend, this causes the economy to slow down. All the money will be in a few companies’ hands. People can say it’s a communist act but the government is the building while but without people the building is utterly useless.

Generations

Many people come to America either to start a better life or to run from their past. No matter the reason, their lives in America are often similar to one another; they come to America unaware of what it really is like here. Some come to America with absolutely nothing, leaving behind everything they ever knew and had.

There are many causes for these differences in the generations of immigrants. Many of the people are coming from countries that are completely different from America. They often have difficulties adjusting because they are still used to their old habits from their country of birth, a big cause of the division in generations. Someone who are born in the United States don't have to break away from habits that where created in their native country because they didn’t grow up with the lifestyle their previous generations had.

      Another cause of these generational differences is money;
a very rich person in their native country can come to America and end up having nothing.
Money has a significant effect on the differences because an immigrant may come to America poor but have children that one day become very wealthy. But then it falls into education, when an immigrant first comes to America they have none of the required education that most jobs are looking for, causing them to have a harder time making money. But their children have an opportunity to get an education and get a high paying job which causes a huge change over their parent’s generation.

There are many people of all races that come to America to have a better life or to have more opportunities than in their home country. But the first generation is almost always the hardest due to the fact that they come to America with almost nothing. But it’s the generation after them that makes all the difference which causes the generational gap. A family that has been in America for a longer period time will generally have much more then a family that has only been in America for a short time.

People treat immigrants like dirt and disregard that they are people too. Some I would agree that are completely useless and do nothing but cause trouble but just because there is a handful... or a lot of useless immigrants doesn't mean they are.
Never treat someone who doesn't speak English or seems to not speak English any different from someone who does. Just because they don't speak English doesn't mean they are stupid
. Look at the Germans they don't speak English and they used to be ahead of the united states before WWII. Many of the Jewish scientist that fled from Germany came to the United States and brought their knowledge of nuclear weapons along with them.

I know what its like to be treated differently because of race or the fact that it seems like we don't speak English... assholes talk about you and your sitting there urging to go up to them and stab them or something and say "I can understand you moron." But I don't blame them because I take a look at all the other Asian immigrants and I am embarrassed myself... it is pathetic and sad how they act and think. But I also need to understand that the place they came from is a completely different playing field. I was fortunate enough to be born in the United States. So whenever you see a immigrant that seems stupid or ignorant keep it to yourself and don't treat them like animals. Unless they act like one then no one would blame you.

The Flow?

The flow... of society, fashion, and popularity. Everyone goes with the flow and just follows. Why? cause the guy in front of you or next to you is doing it so might as well. We all were a part of the "Flow" at least once in our lives, some in jr high school but many in high school. We did what everyone else did just for the sake of being like everyone else. Everyone dressed as if they were in jail so even the whitest of white people tried to also. Then it went to the retro look with the guys wearing skinny jeans and stupid colors. After that everyone wanted to be a skateboarder wearing such fresh sneakers holding a skateboard acting like they skate. Then it all went to rock and punk along with all the metal. But why do people do it, keep changing themselves because everyone else is. All they do is waste money just to change their look again five months later.

I never liked the way everyone did things, maybe thats why I didn't have that many friends. But that was by choice... I didn't want to be like everyone else. Everyone went to wearing skinny jeans and retro colors I didn't even try. Then it went to skating but I didn't even care. Then when everyone went to rock and metal I went to country. I didn't try to be different but I just found it retarded how people changed because everyone else did even though they don't know who everyone else is, why change because of people they don't even know. But I believe no matter how much you change your cloths and hair you can never change the person so dramatically. Everyone changed eventually but some for the wrong reasons.

Lets get out of high school for a minute, why does everyone change styles after a year? Last year it was heels and this year its all about wedges. What happened that changed the "in" style to wedges from heels? To me it is all on the companies that make these products and advertise them, they then influence a lot of people to buy and wear the "new style" that was already worn two years back but people are too slow and narrow minded to remember. Then if you don't wear wedges and still wear heels people will know that your are "so last year." So last year? What the fuck is that suppose to mean... style isn't like technology where hardware becomes obsolete in six months. But companies and corporations make people think it is and style keeps changing causing more and more people to buy more of their products and throw the old ones out. But wait the last time I checked stuff we throw out doesn't disintegrate or evaporate.
What will we do with it then... throw it in space? Oh shit wait we already have a bunch of scrap metal and junk up there I'm surprised none of it came back down creating a hole in someones head. But then all of the style doesn't just apply to cloths or style, it can also apply to technology. Some people are stupid enough to get a entirely new computer just for the flat screen because the person they work with has a nice flat screen computer. People buy new Ipods, Zunes, computers, and laptops just because they came out with a new style and it looks cool, nice and all shiny. But they have no clue what is inside the pc or laptop, all they know is its pretty. So many people are impulsive and don't even think about anything before wasting money and resources. They say humans are more advanced than animals... a money plays with gold because its shiny and pretty, a "human" buys a new car cause its shiny and pretty yea so much for "advanced."

The point I'm trying to make is think before you act and try not to be like everyone else. The thing that makes humans more "advanced" then animals is the ability of analytical thought. "Improvise, Adapt, Overcome" the marines say that and it has a lot to do with what makes humans smarter then animals. The ability to adapt to any situation and most people who say "I'm smarter then an animal" and slow down at a accident just to try to find a body. Violent, and impulsive... sounds pretty much like an animal. Hypocrites.

Don't be part of the crowd, be yourself because if everyone tried to be the same then some of the greatest people who ever lived wouldn't be so great if they went with the flow. Thats why people in the 1950's were happiest because none of the yearly styles were created yet. There was no such thing as what in and whats out. It was what people were comfortable in and comfortable doing. The insatiable need for consumption was a large contributer to the crippled economy.

Time Flies

Feels like just yesterday we all started school. When our parents drop us off for the first day and the feeling where you think people wont like you. But the moment you walk in the door all of it goes away and its just what ever. The whatever feeling sticks around even through college. Most people don't realize why we go to school or whats the point in it. To learn a bunch of math that wont be used or a bunch of English words that have simpler meanings? To look good on paper?

School was never like how we wanted it. All about fun and playing around with our friends. Sure kindergarten was like that and maybe even pre school but I wouldn't know I never went to pre school. Then comes jr high school and in our minds we are bad asses. Then before a blink of an eye high school comes along. The best experience of our lives but also the worst. The place we make memories and enemies at the same time. Sometimes we all wish our high school experience was like those portrayed in high school musical. Fun and full of activities and cool people that break out singing every 10 minutes. The one time we think we find some kind of true love but turns out to be nothing more then a figment of our imagination. The 4 years of our lives that we will carry for the rest of our lives no matter bad or good. But it isn't until the senior year where people realize... holy shit I fucked up!

But the sad part is some people still don't learn even through college. Some people might have the age of a college student but not the mentality. We are all on for the ride even though we don't know where the ride is going. All we know is what kind of car it is and how much it cost. That's why most people don't finish college or don't make it in life even after college. No one thinks about their future and where the car is rolling. They start the car rolling and set it to neutral and forget about it not caring if it leads to a mansion or to a cliff, "People don't plan to fail... they fail to plan."

But to many people it all doesn't matter its ten or so years away. But look how fast eighteen years past by, entering the public school system not knowing what high school even is and before we know it were in it. Everyone wants to be rich and just sit back for the rest of their life relaxing. The only problem is people don't become rich by relaxing and money technically doesn't grow on trees. They plan ahead and think about their future no matter how far or how close it may seem. But the secret to success and to all the fortune is simple, to endure. Endure the roadblocks or speed bumps that might destroy your axle. Just keep going and think before you stomp on the gas after eighteen beers. Figure out what the future holds and act on it. "Failing isn't making a mistake... but refusing to fix the mistake."

Whats the point?

Whats the point of fighting those IED loving strangers. Why are we still there and why hasn't someone ended the war yet? Most people think there is no reason we should still be there. That we should just cut our losses and pull out, they don't understand and never will. Hell most of them wont even know why we fought in Vietnam and Korea, those where because of communism! Wait oh shit do people know what communism means or are they just told that its oh so bad and for some reason red is associated with it... yea everyone its like a grenade.

It supposedly really dangerous and can explode quickly but no one knows how the hell it works... it just goes BOOM to them. I don't know how people would fear something you really don't understand. Well back to the war, why do we fight it and why don't we just pull out? No not because Bush didn't have a exit strategy... but we fight the war because apparently the middle eastern countries haven't gotten over what the Catholics did centuries ago. They all used to kill in the name of "god", that's why the Catholics had the crusades. No their not meant to liberate the middle east but meant to exterminate. Don't believe in god? then you DIE! Sounds a lot like the middle east calling Americans infidels or screaming their gods name before they commit suicide.

We fight there apparently because the US wants them to adopt democracy. I say you can't force it, it has to be learned and that is why I don't entirely agree with the US's reasons for being there. But when your actually thrown in to the fight it doesn't matter anymore, the only thing that does is the guy next to you watching your back. Well why don't we just pull out... because as soon as we pull out all these terrorist and jerkoff's that want power will start killing each other again. Then the US would have to jump right back in and fight another war all over again. That is one reason we lost Vietnam, we kept leaving land we won and fighting for it 3 times over.

Many people say bring our soldiers home, I don't disagree but I don't agree. Its easy for them to say that since they wont be the ones fighting the war again when it flared up a second time. Then they will become hypocrite's when they end up supporting the war effort. That's how people where when the war started, but people think we can jump in and kill everything and leave. The occupation is always longer and deadlier then they actual war, killing everything and leaving never works since someone else just walks in and takes their place.

So the point of fighting this war and why it is important to see it through the end is so people 5 or 10 years from now wont have to do it again. Besides the media isn't even telling you the whole story. More Americans die there then everyone is told, we are only told about American soldiers that die that. What about private military... more private contractors die there then American soldiers, the main company is Blackwater. Not to mention the supply trucks, supplies and drivers provided by Haliburton. The spotlight is just never on them, the media is too concerned about American soldiers to bother with private soldiers.

Gun Control?

Guns. Portrayed as such evil tools of destruction. but are they really? Maybe its just because people don't really understand guns. I don't consider myself biased when it comes to the subject of guns or knives. I just understand them and understand that it isn't the gun but the gunner. Yea maybe the gunner is crazy or is a bad person but what does that have anything to do with a gun being evil or destructive. To be honest it s just a tool like a screw driver or a knife, any tool can be dangerous if it is not understood or used correctly.
People don't read instruction manuals that come with tools what makes you thing they will read the one for a gun even if everyone of them came with one. That makes a saw just as dangerous as a gun, the only difference is the application of the tool. Certain tools are meant for certain jobs, you don't go and use a drill to cut some sheet metal or wood. Why... well because the tool isn't meant to be used that way but that doesn't stop a select few people that try it anyway. Only difference is I don't see the government or state governments banning drills because one jerk decided to be an asshole.

Oh no not a drill but a gun has to be banned. But why do people ban guns and not a drill? because it hurts people better? I can name so many ways a drill can hurt someone that a gun can't and vise verse, but guns are still very bad compared to drills. I think it is because of fear, fear of everything a gun stood for and what it was always used for. But is it the fear of the people? or is it the fear of the governments. Guns mean power and those who have power only fear one thing... losing it. If people have guns the chances of losing
power greatly increase, so they ban them. But to prevent this is to cause people to fear them. Oh guns are bad, they kill, they hurt, and they are evil in so many ways a knife inst... right? When people fear something they avoid it and the fear em placed into people about guns is very strong and common. But to fear something is to not understand it. Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean its scary. Lets say it isn't fear and people just run and scream whenever they hear gunfire because its a muscle reflex. What other reason would there be gun control? Maybe its because the gun can't argue back. After all I have never seen a gun hop up and go BOOM, now that would be freaky. But it is awfully easy to put blame on something that can't argue back wouldn't it?

But lets say guns are bad and no one is allowed to have one. If that was true a few centuries ago the US wouldn't exist now would it, "Without blood there can not be freedom". Did you really think we used foul language and rocks to beat the British army? If so you should really pay attention in school you might learn something. But guns didn't play a big roll in the revolutionary war you know? They just stopped the British from taking the US back and helped us win the war.

Lets use a more recent example. I support our troops in Iraq, not because I believe in the war but I believe in them. They stand for something that has kept the US at the top of the super powers list. Military might, the US military is the best trained and equipped military in the world. But if guns where so bad why does the greatest military in the world have the most biggest and most reliable ones out there?

"The right to bear arms". Sounds familiar? it should its in the bill of rights. But people misunderstand it, It was meant to be vague when it was written so it can be interpreted in many different ways. I also remember reading that if the government fails to fulfill its duties the people have the right to start a revolution. With what? sticks and stones right... yes and add some spice and chemical X while your at it and create super heroes to fight the revolution instead.

Many people would be like oh he is so full of it or yea OK doesn't change the fact guns kill people. I never said they didn't, they do and that is the purpose. But if the people can't even have the right to defend themselves what is the point? Open your minds and think about things other then what people or the news tells you. Fear is what makes you strong, learn to control it and understand it and you will be surprised. If you really read all that crap I said then thanks I guess =). thanks for caring what I think or decided to write.
